Janet (McKinney) Everette - Treasurer

Janet McKinney Everette (ERHS class of 1977) lives in Olney with her husband Pat.  She is the daughter of Alan & Judy (Murray) McKinney.  Janet and Pat have two daughters, Jessica VanDyke, a teacher at ERHS, and Lauren McClain who is a State Farm Insurance agent in Olney.  Janet and Pat also have four grandchildren: Jorri VanDyke, Jakoby VanDyke, Nora McClain and Grant McClain.

 

Janet graduated from Olney Central College and attended Eastern Illinois University.  She is the Assistant Director of the Richland County Housing Authority.  While her daughters were growing up she volunteered for their school activities: serving on the PTA, board member of the ERMS Advisory Council, and the Girl Scouts, where she served as a leader, cookie chairperson and service unit director.  Janet has also been actively involved with the American Cancer Society Relay For Life on the board and as event chairperson. She served as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters and is a former board member of the PALS Task Force.  Janet is an active member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Olney serving in many capacities: as an elder, a teacher and serving on various teams.  In addition, through her service at 1st Presbyterian, she was instrumental in the development and administration of Build Community of Richland County, a non-profit organization that makes home-repairs for elderly and low-income homeowners in Richland County.  She and Pat are proud supporters of Olney Central College basketball and serve as host parents for several of the players.  In her spare time, Janet enjoys working in the yard, reading, and attending basketball, softball and baseball games.
